Seniors Frequently Asked Questions

I am here for YOU! Every senior and every session is different. I am not a cookie cutter, slap a preset on your photos, type of photographer. I am going to make it fun with music and your curated playlist. I want to collaborate with you on your vision for your session. This may include creating a mood board or sending inspiration pictures. I will make sure to communicate with you through every step of the process to make sure you are getting exactly what you want. There is no upselling! I truly enjoy the whole senior experience. I can do traditional photos, but prefer to bring some creativity and uniqueness to your session. Let's show off your personality, style and interests.

You will not have to guess what to do. I will direct you with prompts or suggestions, no stiff poses! I like a lot of movement and personality in my photos. You won't believe how good you will look and feel.

This is such a great question! The earlier, the better! Once you have finished your junior year, you can start thinking about your senior pictures. As far as the time of year, it really depends on your style and personality. Decide on which season suits you best. Are you hoping to wear skirts, shorts, or sundresses? Then a summer or spring session may be perfect for you. Do you like to wear jeans and sweaters, scarves and hats? You may enjoy a fall session best. Do you love all the seasons and not sure which one to pick? I have a Senior Experience collection for that too! My calendar books up months in advance. If you would like a fall session, contact me in the summer and if you want a spring session, contact me in the winter.

We accept most major credit and debit cards, cashier's checks, and cash.

A non-refundable retainer fee is due immediately, within 24 hours upon booking your Senior Experience session. This ensures that your date is yours only and not open for any other clients to book. The remainder of your payment is due 15 days before your session date.

I schedule shoots on available weekdays and weekends. All shoots take place in the afternoon/evening to achieve the best possible light, us photographer like to call those magical hours " the Golden Hour" and depending on the changes due to daylight savings time, your session may begin at 2:00 pm during late fall and winter, and 3:30 in the spring and early fall, and 5:30 in the summer. I will help you find the perfect time based on the season you’re scheduling. We can even set up my lights for some dramatic and stylish nighttime photos. On very rare occasions, I can schedule a morning session too!

You are totally welcome to bring a parent, trusted adult, or friend along! I want everyone to feel comfortable, whether they wait in the car, hang out nearby, or stay right there with us to help hype you up.

I want you to know that if you bring your mom with you, I am known to end the session with a photo of you and your mom! Bring on the tears as it is a big moment for you, but also for your mom too!!!

You’ll show up in an outfit you feel great in and if you booked a Senior experience that allows for more than one outfit, bring them too! If you're taking your photos that are geared more towards your interest, hobbies, or sports be sure to bring everything you might need to ensure we get all the shots!

You might like to have a few things set aside that you may want for hair or makeup touch ups. Some examples are a brush, a hair-tie, a pocket mirror, or your favorite lip color. I’d highly recommend bringing a water bottle too, in case you need a sip while we’re shooting!

Simply because they are my favorite! Their energy is infectious and fun. It is such an exciting time in their lives and I love being there to capture it. I feel very honored that my seniors and their families trust me.

Heck yes you can! Our professional makeup artists can give you ANY look you want - from super glam to super natural - you get to control how you look in your senior pictures. We even work with you before the session day to find out exactly what your dream hair and makeup style will be.

Did you know that our Ultimate Senior Experience clients gets to book multiple hair and makeup sessions per each season session as well as the cap + gown mini in the Spring! By booking this Senior Experience it will add a ton of variety to your session!

No, you don't have too but it is there if you'd like to take advantage of being pampered for your session!

Trust me, getting dolled up is a ton of fun but if you'd like to do your own hair and makeup, we can adjust the price of your Senior Expereince!

We do! Immediately upon booking, you will pay the non-refundable retainer fee. Then, your session remainder, depending on your session selection, will be divided into thirds and due at 6 weeks, 4 weeks, and 2 weeks, before your session date. This is only if you need a payment plan option. Please be sure to let me know when booking that this is an option that you need to have applied so I can make the proper arrangements.

Rain, rain go away! Rain is defiantly no fun on a senior session! I will watch the weather the day of your session, keep in contact with you, and make the best decision for your shoot prior to meeting if you chose a collection that includes hair and makeup. We may need to reschedule but, we will get your shoot done, I promise! However, if you want to embrace the rain (if it's not raining cats and dogs) then I'm down for some fun in the rain!

Most of my senior shoots happen in or around Southern Illinois and surrounding areas. If you’re interested in a different location, let’s talk!

I’m happy to travel around Southern Illinois but, a small travel fee may apply if your favorite location is more than 40 miles from Vienna, Illinois.
