the real me. born in Germany and raised in Missouri. retired army brat and a usaf veteran’s wife. mom to three little girls and three fur boys. I adore warm summer days, comfy leggings, flip flops, and a good book. nothing beats an ice cold glass of sweet tea. mornings are not my best friend. dove chocolate is my nemesis. I cry easily at movies, especially those with animals. when something is funny, I tend to laugh a little too loudly. I love to cook. I have more creative ideas floating around in my head than I could complete in two lifetimes. I am rose lee and I am a photographer.
randomness. I’m not nearly as hip and cool in real life as I am in my dreams. I must have a fan on when I sleep. I don’t like gold. I don’t need a $50 pair of designer jeans to make me happy. techno music is my thing. I drive about five under the speed limit. I want to learn how to play the cello. I love having my toenails painted, my hair done, & my makeup perfect but, I hate spending the time to do it. I am usually always cold. I like to write in lowercase letters. I want another tattoo & the thought of that bothers my mom.
the style. my style is modern mixed with vintage and real life. you should choose me as your photographer, because I will make your experience personal, laid back, awesome, and all around fun! plus, you will get some amazing photographs out of it. I won’t edit any photo I took from your session unless I can see myself printing it out and hanging it on my wall, as it were my own. I absolutely love my clients and I strive to make them happy with their photos and for them to have the best experience possible. I definitely love taking pictures for people and I hope to do it for the rest of my life. I can’t really imagine doing anything else! I love capturing the moments that you wish the keep forever and maybe even one day show your children. and your children’s children. and possibly even your children’s children’s’ children!
my why. I have been asked “Why do you do what you do?” quite often from family, friends, and event my clients and the best answer I could come up with are these words that I now use as my mission statement. I do this because time passes by way too quickly. Because children grow up and parents age. Families change and memories fade with time. To be able to capture just a tiny bit of time and preserving it in a picture is simply, priceless. To be able to look back and remember the innocence of youth, the excitement of young love, and the wonder of new beginnings kept fresh in your mind and in your heart. Well captured images are important, because no one wants to forget, and because time cannot be saved in a bottle…
thank you. to my father, who was the one with the camera and the eye for something beautiful, typically a model in a bathing suit. my mother for allowing me to live through high school and believing that I could do anything I wanted, if I put my mind to it. my husband for supporting me in my dreams and allowing me to be a workaholic when it comes to photography and never questioning me. my daughter’s, all three of them, for inspiring me day after day, keeping me young, and making me smile. my clients for sharing your families with me and giving me the opportunity to do what I love every day.
